As an Assistant Principal, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to cultivate well-rounded individuals who embody the principles of Honor, Achievement, World Citizenship, and Kindness. Your role is multifaceted, encompassing leadership, mentorship, and the enforcement of our school's rules and expectations.

Physical & Financial Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull, lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and be able to speak to a child at his or her eye level, which may include squatting or sitting on the ground

Decision Making/Supervising/Confidentiality

• Leadership/Mentorship/Development of a team of teaching professionals
• Experience working with students in sports or activities
• Ability to mediate difficult situations.
• The ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively.
• A commitment to classical education and the school's mission.
• Experience with Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) and/or character education.
• Experience in education management, supervision, or administration.
• Experience in or knowledge of charter or independent schools and the Core Knowledge Sequence.
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality regarding all students

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of a Administrative Leadership Program. Must be licensed or have the ability to obtain a license through CDE.
• Minimum 2-years of school leadership experience, preferably at high school experience.
• Previous K-12 education classroom experience.
• Experience leading student discipline, curriculum, and professional learning.
• Experience working with students in sports or activities.
• Ability to mediate difficult situations.
• The ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively.
• Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills

Your employment by the Vanguard Classical School may provide you with information that is confidential and proprietary to the Vanguard Classical School or to its affiliated schools including, but not limited to, any trade secret, any financial, educational, fundraising, student, and/or personnel files, records and/or information (collectively "Confidential Information"), and that disclosure of any Confidential Information could cause irreparable harm to the Vanguard Classical School and its students. You agree not to communicate, divulge, or disclose to any other person, firm, or entity or use for your own benefit or purposes, any Confidential Information, except as required by law or court order or expressly authorized in advance in writing by the Vanguard Classical School. This covenant shall survive the expiration or termination of your employment by the Vanguard Classical School.

In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, you will be required to provide documented evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Please bring appropriate documentation with you to your New Hire Orientation. Federal Law states that the Charter School may not permit you to work more than three days without this documentation.

Lastly, please note that your employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of the required criminal background clearance process, and that the failure to do so will render any offer null and void in its entirety.
