Job Description Summary:

The Logistics Team Leader is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics operations, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, distribution, and shipping execution. This role ensures that materials and finished goods flow efficiently and accurately to meet customer demand, cost, quality and service targets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations: Manage resources and daily logistics activities including inbound and outbound shipments, warehousing, and distribution. Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity of all warehouse operations. Works cross functionally with all departments effectively to balance demand with capacity and material movement.

  • Safety & 5S: Ensure a safe, organized, and clean working environment following 5S & Ergonomic methodology, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions by supporting safety initiatives.

  • People Management: Lead & develop through active leadership, instilling company values, development plans, performance management and training matrices while living collective accountability. Develop & deliver fair, accurate and meaningful employee performance reviews. Responsible for assigned team’s adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Compliance and Accuracy: Handle customs clearance and trade compliance activities (import/export) including international paperwork. Maintain documentation standards for shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions. Ensure proper execution and data accuracy within ERP

  • 3PL Management: Oversee third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transport carriers to ensure performance and compliance.

  • Continuous Improvement: Improve company and department performance through Operational Excellence/LEAN principles, methods, modules and elements. As well as CAPEX for new or existing equipment to increase capacity and/or improve effectiveness.

  • Reporting & KPIs: Actively participate and report out in Daily Management +QDIP and Gemba to drive cross-functional execution while tracking daily performance. Ensure when a miss occurs, a root cause analysis and counter measures are identified, executed and validated for effectiveness. Track and improve logistics KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), Delivery Accuracy, Inventory Accuracy, and Warehouse Productivity.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • MUST have Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain Mgt, Operations Management, Logistics) from four-year college or university10 years of Logistics/Lead experience
  • MUST have 3PL warehouse experience
  • APICS/CPIM Preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to drive ownership and accountability of results within the organization
  • Ability to provide active day-to-day leadership for a highly energized, integrated, cross-functional warehouse team.
