Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist is needed to provide expert respiratory care at a healthcare facility located in Volcano, HI. This 15-week contract role requires a night shift commitment with three 12-hour shifts per week, offering a dynamic work schedule for skilled respiratory therapists ready to deliver comprehensive care to a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Manage continuous airway support for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
- Provide ventilator and non-invasive ventilator management using PB 980, PB 840, V60, and Para Pac Transport Ventilators
- Collaborate with physicians for respiratory consultations and deliver CPR as needed
- Utilize computerized charting and Pyxis medication management systems efficiently
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience; no first assignments accepted
- State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License required before assignment start
- Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS required; RRT and NRP preferred
- Must demonstrate capability in caring for diverse patient populations across all age groups
Schedule:
- Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts weekly (36 hours)
- No guarantee of hours beyond scheduled shifts
Additional Requirements:
- Arrival by the Thursday before the start date is mandatory for the employee health appointment on Friday
- Proof of flu vaccination or documented facility-approved medical/religious exemption mandatory prior to contract start; vaccination can be administered during employee health clearance
