Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing occupational therapy services within a K-12 school setting, this contract position offers an opportunity to support student development and functional skills on a part-time basis. The role is based in Valparaiso, IN, with coverage responsibilities extending to Portage and the SELF school in Valparaiso. The contract spans from early January to early June, aligning with the traditional school calendar.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in school-based OT settings preferred
- Strong understanding of K-12 student developmental needs and educational goals
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff and families
- Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to school policies
Location:
- Valparaiso, Indiana, with travel to Portage and SELF school in Valparaiso as needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in a school environment
- Support student participation in educational activities by addressing fine motor, sensory processing, and other functional needs
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to develop and implement individualized intervention plans
- Maintain compliance with documentation and licensing requirements
- Provide services 14 hours per week across two days, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
