Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for an acute care assignment; license required if applicable.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Acute inpatient and swing bed care settings
- Typical daily caseload of 8 to 10 patients with 1 therapist per day
- Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic total joints, neuro (including stroke and occasional brain injuries), medical, and general ICU cases
- Required to cover both acute inpatient and swing bed areas
- May float to a nearby facility when census is low
- Uses Epic EMR
- 5 shifts per week, Monday through Friday, 8-hour day shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- No self-scheduling or blocked scheduling allowed
- May be required to cover holidays
- Responsibilities include managing an acute inpatient and swing bed patient caseload with varied diagnoses
- Support from department manager available during shifts
- Department-specific orientation provided, typically 2-3 days
- Scrubs permitted; color must not match other departments, with a list provided on hire
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Permanent employees must wait one year before applying for a travel position
- A 50-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates will be considered

- Active PT license required at time of consideration, if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in acute inpatient or rehabilitation
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to provide two references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
- Copy of valid driver's license required
- State license verification must be active; pending licenses not accepted
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
