Job Description
Job DescriptionAnswer the call to care as an ER Registered Nurse in Pahala, Hawaii, where high-stakes urgent care meets a welcoming community spirit. In this fast-paced emergency department, your expertise will save lives, stabilize trauma patients, and guide families through moments of uncertainty with confidence and compassion. You’ll triage with precision, initiate life-saving interventions, interpret monitors and labs, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians, technicians, social workers, and case managers to ensure seamless, patient-centered care. This opportunity begins on 03/23/2026, with a contract structure that adapts to your availability and professional goals, offering a competitive weekly pay range of 2,037 to 2,183, with the potential for extension and ongoing opportunities based on performance and facility needs. Take this chance to sharpen your emergency nursing skills in a community where your impact is felt from the first shift to the last. You’ll have the chance to mentor others, contribute to rapid cycle improvements, and build confidence in high-pressure decision making, all while feeling the warmth of a place where island life invites balance, focus, and resilience.
Location benefits: Pahala and the surrounding Big Island communities fuse natural beauty with a resilient, close-knit healthcare network. You’ll be part of a program that values work-life balance while honoring the demands of emergency care. Relish the chance to explore volcanic landscapes, black-sand beaches, lush rainforests, coffee country, and cultural celebrations, all within a short drive or weekend adventures. The role also offers the possibility to serve in other U.S. locations through our expansive network, expanding your professional horizons, enriching your clinical perspective, and enabling you to experience diverse rural and urban ED environments. Whether you’re drawn to quiet mornings by the ocean or the thrill of a fast-paced night shift, this assignment provides opportunities to immerse yourself in one of the United States’ most distinctive regions while maintaining the flexibility to broaden your horizons over time.
Role specifics and benefits: In this ER setting, your key responsibilities include fast-paced triage, rapid assessment and resuscitation, airway management and medication administration, IV care, telemetry monitoring, procedural support for suturing and splinting, as well as timely documentation and clear communication with families and the broader care team. You’ll lead and collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and ancillary staff to stabilize patients, identify contraindications, participate in trauma activations, and coordinate post-emergency plans with case management. The position offers meaningful opportunities for professional growth within emergency medicine, including exposure to regional trauma protocols, quality improvement projects, and potential specialty certification support. To support your success, the program provides a compelling benefits package, including a sign-on bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities that align with your career trajectory. You’ll receive continuous, comprehensive support from a dedicated 24/7 travel team and site leadership, ensuring you have real-time assistance and guidance whether you’re on site or between assignments. Importantly, weekly pay reflects your expertise, with the chance to secure continued work through extended contracts, all while maintaining the independence and flexibility that travel nursing affords. Please note that guaranteed hours are not set in stone (0.0 guaranteed hours), so scheduling remains adaptable and dependent on facility needs and staffing levels. As with all roles, final terms will be confirmed during the hiring process.
Company values: Our organization is built on a foundation of empowerment, mentorship, and community. We prioritize career advancement by providing structured pathways to leadership roles within emergency services, ongoing education stipends, and opportunities to contribute to policy development and patient safety initiatives. We foster a supportive, inclusive work environment where your voice matters, your clinical judgment is respected, and your well-being is a central consideration. From onboarding and training to ongoing performance feedback, our culture centers on helping you grow into a confident, influential professional who can deliver excellent care under pressure while maintaining compassion for patients and families.
