About the Organization

A large acute-care hospital in the Salem, Virginia area is seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a fast-paced emergency department. The facility is a full-service medical center offering advanced cardiovascular care, orthopedic and spine services, behavioral health, and oncology programs.

Position Overview

The Emergency Room RN provides high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and treat emergency patients of all ages

• Manage multiple patient cases simultaneously and prioritize based on acuity

• Maintain professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations

• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams

• Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation

• Maintain patient safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or current BSN enrollment preferred

• Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license eligible to practice in Virginia

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience in an acute care setting preferred

• Medical-Surgical RNs will be considered for cross-training (Night Shift only)

Compensation

• $32.33/hour (0–9 years of experience)

• $40.41/hour (10–19 years of experience)

• $48.50/hour (20+ years of experience)

Shift Differentials

• Night Shift: +$3.00/hour

• Weekend Day Shift: +$3.00/hour

• Weekend Night Shift: +$7.00/hour

Incentives

• $15,000 sign-on bonus (2-year commitment required)

• Relocation assistance up to $1,500
