Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver expert nursing care in a dynamic 29-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit designed for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions. This contract opportunity involves working 12-hour day shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and major holiday coverage, providing a structured yet rewarding schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications safely and efficiently while adhering to state and organizational guidelines.
- Conduct lab draws and start IVs independently, utilizing advanced skills with Alaris Pumps and Hercules Beds.
- Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams, serving as a liaison for patients and their families.
- Manage complex cases involving multi-system organ failure, trauma, and acute changes in condition.
- Advocate for patient safety, quality care, and emotional support through collaboration with spiritual and palliative care teams.
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize care and respond promptly to emergent situations.
- Maintain compliance with evidence-based practices and institutional policies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license in applicable state or compact licensure required.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; 6 months in an acute care hospital preferred.
- Proficiency in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, with confident lab draws and IV insertions.
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required; ACLS, CCRN, PCCN certifications advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably EPIC.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competency, and ability to handle high-stress scenarios calmly.
