We have a unique opportunity for an Administrative Medical Assistant to join our team at Summit Orthopaedics LLP, an orthopedic clinic located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Position Details:
- Hours: 8:00-5:00
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Pay Range: $22-$26

Responsibilities: You will be an integral part of the care that patients receive, and will support in the back office and clerical duties as an administrative medical assistant. This role consists of approximately 90% administrative duties, and approximately 10% hands on care. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administrative Duties:
- This position directly supports a surgeon with administering excellent orthopedic care.
- Providing customer service to each patient, as the first (medical) point of contact at our clinic, ensuring a positive experience.
- Scheduling office visits.
- Coordinating surgeries and communicating directly with hospitals, facilities, and surgery scheduling staff.
- Communicating directly with the patient to answer questions and counsel on surgical instructions.
- Entering requested imaging orders in EMR to reflect the studies performed.
- Entering orders, referrals or documents into our EMR .
- Obtaining authorizations for advanced medical imaging from insurance companies.
- Managing referrals, contacting patients and scheduling at either of our Go To Ortho locations.
- Triaging medical concerns or requests from patients, and addressing with the mid-level provider.
- Returning phone calls to patients, and providing instructions and recommendations as advised by the mid-level provider.
- Completing disability paperwork, attending physician statements, 827 forms, work status updates, etc. in a timely manner.
- Reviewing upcoming appointments and obtain pertinent records.
Clinical Duties:
- Escorting patients to and from the lobby, x-ray room, and exam rooms.
- Performing proper lifting and transferring techniques to safely move patients to and from the imaging table.
- Cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and turning over rooms in between patients.
- Drawing up injections as ordered by our providers.
- Preparing patients for treatments and procedures.
- Removing splints, bandages, dressings and preparing the patient prior to the provider's exam.
- Removing sutures and staples and provide wound care, and wound care instructions to when ordered by providers.
- Application and removal of casts, splints, and other braces.
- Effectively communicating processes and follow up instructions with patients .
- Performing both opening and closing clinical duties.
Team Dynamic: Our clinic consists of 30 full-time and part-time employees. This position will work closely with our team of X-Ray Techs, Medical Assistants, Providers, and Front Office Staff.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in a medical clinic setting as a medical assistant or other patient services support role (preferred).
- Familiarity with EMR systems preferred.
- Familiarity and ability to comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to reliably commute to Lake Oswego, OR.
- Ability to participate in pre-employment background check upon hire.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
