An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience to work in a contract role based in Trussville, AL. This position requires strong clinical skills in perioperative nursing, specifically within cardiovascular surgery, to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, specialized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in a designated CVOR setting.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth operative workflows and patient safety.
- Maintain meticulous adherence to sterile techniques and operating room protocols.
- Respond efficiently during call shifts, managing patient needs and assisting surgical staff.
- Utilize Cerner SurgiNet EMR for documentation and patient record management.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN licensure with a minimum of one year CVOR experience.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH (AHA-certified).
- Proven ability to scrub and circulate during cardiovascular surgeries is a strong advantage.
- Ability to function independently with a patient ratio of 1:1 in a high-acuity environment.
- Professional presentation adhering to scrub color guidelines (navy blue) and hospital dress code standards.
Schedule and Work Hours:
- Day shift hours: 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM, 36 guaranteed hours weekly.
- Weekend call every other weekend; call requirements include every other day on weekdays.
