  • Strong understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in radiation protection and operational health physics.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to complex radiological protection challenges while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of technical accuracy and safety.
  • Ability to mentor and guide other technicians while supporting facility radiological operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and three (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Additional training, certification, or education in radiation protection may be desirable.

Clearance and Program Requirements

  • DOE Q Clearance required. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required except in extremely limited circumstances.
  • This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities.
  • This position is also subject to the DOE Human Reliability Program (HRP) under 10 CFR Part 712, which includes ongoing drug and alcohol testing and periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
