Job Description
We offer an exciting opportunity to join our Assembly Training Program, designed to transform candidates into qualified assemblers over a six-month period. This program provides comprehensive training that includes classroom learning, hands-on experiences, and job shadowing within various departments such as sealing and coating. The program is structured with checkpoints to ensure participant progress, and all positions are on day shift.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a six-month training program to become a qualified assembler.
- Engage in general labor work in sealing, coating, and other departments.
- Learn to read blueprints and use tools specific to the assembly process.
- Work collaboratively in teams to assemble shelter subassemblies.
- Perform inspections and ensure quality control during assembly.
- Operate machinery and use hand and power tools effectively.
- Participate in modifications of existing shelters as required.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
- Experience with hand and power tools.
- Understanding of basic math.
- Capability to perform mechanical assembly and inspection.
- Proficiency in operating machinery and forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction or welding is a plus.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Capacity to stand, sit, and perform repetitive motions for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in moderately loud environments with optional hearing protection.

Work Environment
The position is on the 1st shift, running from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential variations based on operational needs. The work environment includes a large, non-climate-controlled facility with organized and well-labeled departments. Employees are required to wear steel toe boots, safety glasses, and long work pants. The facility is moderately loud, and while hearing protection is optional, it is available. The team typically works in pairs or in small groups of 4-8 people per cell, contributing to a larger assembly line.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.
