Income Tax Specialist Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in income tax preparation. The individual should be able to work without extensive supervision on all tax and accounting related projects.
Income Tax Specialist Duties/Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare various tax returns 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1120-H, 1065, 1041, 990, 709.
- Prepare State Income tax, Payroll, Sales tax and other local tax returns.
- Prepare Amended tax returns.
- File Extensions and prepare tax planning and projections.
- Respond to client requests and questions and work with clients to obtain information for accounting and tax return completion.
- Independently respond to taxpayer notices.
- Prepare accurate tax workpapers including accounting records.
- Minimum communication with IRS.
- Tax related research.
- Prepare accurate accounting records and discuss year end adjustments with clients.
Income Tax Specialist Qualifications:
- Income tax preparation experience
- Fundamental knowledge of accounting and tax.
- CPA or EA preferred
- Experience with current computer tax (Lacerte) and accounting programs and reporting tools
- Detail and deadline-oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
