OverviewAs a Medical Assistant, you'll be working side-by-side with our providers, assisting with patient care from start to finish. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain valuable experience and make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and sanitize exam rooms
- Stock clinic supplies and equipment
- Room patients, verify demographics, and obtain medical history
- Measure vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate)
- Assist with injections, phlebotomy, and catheterization
- Assist the provider with in-office procedures
- Review provider's voicemails and emails for patient communication
- Communicate with patients as needed for follow-up care
- Present urgent patient matters to the provider
- Update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Medical Assisting degree or CNA certification preferred
- Medical Assistant certification (required within 1 year of hire)
- Current BLS certification
- Current on required vaccinations
- EMR software experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to commute to Sherwood
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen (THC not included)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00AM/8:00AM - 5:00PM/6:00PM) Based on Patient Appointments
Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 Hourly
