Join Our Team as a 3rd Shift Tooling Services Supervisor!
Are you ready to take the next step in your career and lead a dynamic team in a pivotal role? We’re looking for a dedicated 3rd Shift Tooling Services Supervisor to join our team! In this critical role, you’ll help manage our Tool Room and ensure that our cutting tools are ready and available for seamless production operations.
As a key player in our manufacturing team, you’ll oversee a talented group of tooling presetters, maintain cutting tool supply, monitor tool setup quality, and work to minimize costs per piece related to cutting tool usage. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Tool Room Operations: Ensure tools are well-maintained, correctly set, and stored to meet high-quality standards.
- Provide Training and Guidance: Offer instruction on tool room equipment, including Zoller (training provided).
- Inventory Management: Communicate regularly with the Site Manager to maintain adequate tool inventory levels.
- Facilitate Smooth Shift Transitions: Conduct effective handoff meetings to ensure continuity and support.
- Coordinate Staffing: Manage personnel schedules to guarantee sufficient support for production needs.
- Oversee Material Flow: Manage the inflow and outflow of materials in the tool resharpening area.
- Ongoing Training: Facilitate retraining for preset personnel as needed to ensure skill development.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to internal and customer-specific procedures, maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.
- Decision-Making: Make informed decisions within established guidelines to optimize operations.
What You Bring:
- Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience working in a manufacturing team.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Outlook.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to analyze situations and develop effective solutions.
- Collaboration Skills: Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with engineers, team members, suppliers, and customers.
- Union Management: Experience managing union personnel while adhering to communication guidelines (training provided).
- Safety First: Commitment to complying with all safety guidelines to foster a safe work environment.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass the required pre-employment background check and drug screen.
