Civil Design Engineer – Transportation
A well-established engineering firm is seeking a Civil Design Engineer (Transportation) to join its Civil Engineering team. This role is ideal for a motivated new graduate or early-career engineer interested in transportation and roadway design. The successful candidate will be self-driven, proactive, and eager to develop technically sound and innovative design solutions in accordance with agency standards and project requirements.
No current or future sponsorship. No visa sponsorship is available for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design of transportation and roadway projects for state agencies, toll authorities, and municipalities
- Assist with roadway geometry, grading, drainage, and related transportation design elements
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with other disciplines to support integrated project delivery
- Apply applicable design codes, standards, and procedures throughout project development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 1–5 years of design experience within a consulting engineering environment
- Familiarity with transportation design standards (state DOT, tollway, or municipal) is a plus
- Experience with MicroStation, including CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer, preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Awareness of multidisciplinary coordination and design integration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
