Minimum 1+ years Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist experience and ARRT certification required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pivotal role is available for a skilled professional specializing in Imaging within Interventional Radiology. This position focuses on supporting a variety of angiography procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and imaging quality are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute angiography procedures with proficiency, including scrubbing, setting techniques, and capturing diagnostic images.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications pertinent to interventional radiology technology.
- Provide essential procedural assistance as a circulating, scrub, or monitoring technician in compliance with lab policies and scope of practice.
- Operate IR equipment and related information systems correctly to produce high-quality images.
- Verify patient identification and orders while prepping patients for examinations.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols to sustain a secure environment for patients and staff.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, including their indications and applications.
- Comply with medical necessity protocols, coding, and charging guidelines; secure necessary consents; uphold QC programs; and report any equipment issues.
- Deliver patient education, ensure comfort, and respond to patient or family concerns.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and any adverse events.
- Coordinate with care providers post-procedure to communicate relevant patient information.
- Manage sheath care post-procedure, including suturing or removal and hemostasis.
- Maintain work area readiness and inventory of supplies.
- Facilitate patient transport as required.
- Assist with specialized procedures such as SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, nephrostomy and biliary tube placements, CT-guided interventions, and neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid licensure and certifications in Interventional Radiology Technology.
- Experience with angiography and interventional radiology procedures.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and quality control measures.
- Ability to operate imaging equipment and manage patient care efficiently.
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team coordination.
