Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Development Nurse is responsible for leading clinical training and onboarding initiatives across the hospice service line. This role ensures new team members are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to deliver high-quality, compassionate hospice care.

The Clinical Development Nurse partners closely with hospice leadership to build strong working relationships, foster a culture of mentorship and coaching, and ensure clinical excellence and consistency in patient care delivery.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead clinical onboarding and training for Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Home Health Aides, Spiritual Care providers, Medical Social Workers, Music Therapists, Massage Therapists, and other hospice team members
  • Provide leadership and support to new hires throughout their orientation period
  • Train Registered Nurses on proper admission protocols and hospice care standards
  • Ensure new staff understand accurate, timely, and compliant documentation practices
  • Provide comprehensive training on electronic medical records (EMR), tablet use, and documentation systems
  • Educate staff on the hospice philosophy of care and company standards for patient-centered service
  • Provide training support to facility partner staff as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
  • Current State License as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse in a hospice or home health environment 
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervising capacity in a hospice setting
  • Nursing skills as defined by accepted nursing standards
  • Demonstrates ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients, families, and caregivers in varied settings and to function effectively in the home or nursing facility environment
  • Demonstrates skill in nursing practice, ability to cope with ill, disabled, terminal patients, family emotional stress, and tolerance of individual lifestyles
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities, documentation requirements, and deadlines
  • Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN preferred
  • Familiarity with Home Care Home Base (HCHB)

Location

  • Office Location: 24255 W 13 Mile Rd STE 210, Bingham Farms, MI 48025
  • Travel: Required to travel our Home Health offices in Jackson, Saginaw, and Grand Rapids as needed

Hours

  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
