FRWD Construction is currently seeking experienced Middle TN based Superintendents.
The Superintendent will lead, manage, and direct subcontractors and various trade labor. The Superintendent is directly responsible for sequencing of work, maintaining safety, quality control, budget adherence, and scheduled delivery of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all field operations related to the performance of the project: methods of construction, project schedule, subcontractors, vendors, logistics, quality control, and delivery.
- Establishes, coordinates, and manages the sequence of work and methods in which the work will be accomplished by the subcontractors, vendors, and various personnel involved in the project that is consistent with the project delivery date, scope of work, and contract documents.
- Communicate in a timely manner with project management as needed to resolve construction issues and to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and client expectations.
- Manage and enforce job site rules and site safety. Ensure that all field personnel are in compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and conduct quality control to ensure that installations and materials conform to the approved plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Qualifications:
- Must have 3+ years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent: tenant improvements and ground up.
- Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem solve in fast paced environments and prioritize effectively.
- Deadline and detail oriented. Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Must be a good communicator with proven written and verbal abilities; proficiency with computers/tablets; strong negotiation skills.
- Must be a team player; willing to be trained/mentored.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and navigate work areas under construction.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Employees must occasionally lift and/or move heavy weight.
