A Day in the Life of the BCBA
In this role, our client’s BCBA leads the clinical direction of care by conducting functional behavior assessments and developing individualized behavior intervention plans. You’ll work closely with clients, caregivers, and direct support staff to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective ABA services. This position plays a key role in supporting positive behavior change, improving family functioning, and maintaining compliance with state and licensing standards.
Responsibilities include:
- M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Daytime programs only
- Conducting functional assessments for assigned clients
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral support and intervention plans
- Training caregivers in behavior support strategies to enhance individual and family outcomes
- Teaching and modeling behavior support techniques to caregivers and direct care staff
- Providing clinical supervision, training, and competency assessments for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and assigned clinical staff
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation across all phases of treatment, including assessments, care plans, transitions, and discharge planning
- Collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams regarding treatment planning and clinical care
- Ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards set by licensing boards and state regulations
- Meeting direct care expectations
- Participating in ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and certification requirements
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Prior work experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Active BCBA certification
- 1+ years of experience working with adults and/or children on the autism spectrum
- Prior work experience supervising RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians)
- High level of organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic behavioral health environment
