As a rapidly growing small business, we are looking for experienced Engineers who can provide quality deliverables and help grow our business. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer experience in Auxiliary and Deck Systems to support engineering deliverables for the US Navy. If you have experience with shipboard mechanical systems, HVAC and piping analysis, and a strong understanding of system integration on Navy or MSC vessels, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Support mechanical system design reviews, calculations, and integration for auxiliary and deck systems
- Evaluate system upgrades and replacements for HVAC, piping, and deck machinery
- Perform PipeFlow or equivalent flow analysis and engineering calculations
- Interface directly with shipyards, shipboard personnel, and NAVSEA stakeholders
- Provide quality assurance review of technical deliverables
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and assist in mentoring junior engineers
- Support Program Manager with reporting and customer communication
- Approximately 10% travel
Required Qualifications
- BS/BE in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience supporting U.S. Navy, USCG, or MSC vessels
- Hands-on experience with:
- HVAC systems
- PipeFlow or equivalent pipe flow analysis software
- Deck systems (winches, cranes, cargo handling equipment)
- Familiarity with ship system integration and shipboard mechanical arrangements
- Understanding of design review processes and coordination with shipyards
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
- Experience auxiliary vessels & AutoCAD proficiency preferred
