A critical care nursing position focusing on cardiac intensive care is available in Elgin, SC. This role involves working three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a 1:1-2 patient ratio in a busy acute care hospital setting. The position requires flexibility, including floating within the unit scope and working every other weekend. On-call duties may be assigned during low census periods but are not mandatory.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse license valid in South Carolina or a Multi-State Compact license
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
  • Preferred familiarity with CRRT Prismax equipment
  • Ability to float between units as needed, with manager approval for block scheduling

Location Details:Elgin, SC, offers a manageable commute within a 60-mile radius for locals, who are accepted on a case-by-case basis. The hospital is part of an acute care medical center located downtown, with convenient parking options available free of charge after obtaining a parking pass during badge pickup. The charting system used is Epic, and team members don royal blue scrubs. Nurses should be prepared to participate in hurricane emergency response teams during the June to November season.
