Job Description

Perform comprehensive mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including the assembly of sealers, heat tunnels, and sub-assemblies. This role involves managing the entire process from pulling stock from the warehouse to building the device, performance testing, and troubleshooting errors. Additionally, assist in various shop areas such as sawing, punch press, machining, deburring, and metal finishing as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical devices, including sealers and heat tunnels.
  • Read and interpret process documentation, drawings, prints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Pull parts from inventory to assemble devices.
  • Complete paperwork such as work orders, forms, and checklists.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and inspect assembled products for defects.
  • Recommend updates to assembly procedures and documentation as necessary.
  • Assist in sawing, punch press, machining, deburring, and metal finishing when needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventories and participate in cycle counting.
  • Train other co-workers as needed.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with assembly instructions and mechanical assembly.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools such as drills, impact drivers, socket sets, and wrenches.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and general production skills.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical assembly and wiring.
  • Understanding of electronic assembly and repair.
  • Capability to work with packaging and general labor tasks.

Work Environment

Work in a brand new facility that was renovated 1.5 years ago. Join a team of 5 assemblers, working across two departments: subassembly and finish assembly. Operate on the first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, utilizing a range of hand and power tools. The environment is safe, clean, and organized, with an emphasis on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Big Lake, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
