Job DescriptionAbout the Role
We are hiring Orthopedic Surgeonson behalf of a healthcare AI partner developing advanced clinical decision-support systems focused on musculoskeletal diagnostics, surgical decision-making, and post-operative care pathways. In this in-person San Francisco role, you will apply surgical expertise to review and validate orthopedic data, directly shaping safe and reliable medical AI. This role bridges real-world orthopedic practice with applied AI, ensuring accurate representation of imaging interpretation, operative planning, and recovery protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Data Annotation

Review and label orthopedic consult notes, imaging reports, operative summaries, and case data.

Validate diagnoses, surgical indications, implant decisions, and rehabilitation plans.
Quality Review Model Evaluation

Audit datasets for clinical accuracy and alignment with AAOS guidelines.

Review AI-generated summaries and treatment recommendations for safety and appropriateness.
Knowledge Contribution

Help define annotation standards for acute injuries, degenerative conditions, and sports-related pathology.

Advise on edge cases (e.g., complex fractures, revision surgery, polytrauma).
Requirements

MD or DO, board-certified/eligible in Orthopedic Surgery

Active U.S. medical license

5+ years of clinical experience preferred

Experience with surgical planning, imaging interpretation, and post-op management

Interest in medical AI or informatics preferred

Contract and Payment Terms
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
- Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
- Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
