We're seeking an experienced special education teacher with Orton Gillingham training to provide exceptional individualized instruction through our innovative remote learning platform.

Position Details

This role enpasses 35.5 hours of weekly instruction, supporting approximately 45-52 students ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade. You'll bine your special education expertise with Orton Gillingham methodology to deliver personalized learning experiences that address each student's specific academic and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Orton Gillingham-based lesson plans for virtual delivery
  • Manage prehensive IEP processes including goal development, progress monitoring, and annual reviews
  • Provide specialized instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and prehension
  • Utilize virtual manipulatives and multisensory techniques adapted for online learning environments
  • Conduct regular virtual parent conferences to discuss student progress and home support strategies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated service delivery
  • Document student progress using data-driven assessment tools and maintain accurate records
  • Adapt traditional Orton Gillingham materials and methods for effective virtual instruction

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
  • Current Ohio special education teaching license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on special education teaching experience
  • Orton Gillingham certification or demonstrated training in structured literacy approaches
  • Proven experience working with students who have specific learning disabilities
  • Strong technology skills and fort with virtual teaching platforms
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Cultural petency and sensitivity to diverse learning needs

Desired Experience

  • Advanced Orton Gillingham training or Associate/Fellow level certification
