Position Summary The Literacy Interventionist provides targeted, high-impact academic acceleration for K-5 students. This role targets the "Working Theory" that individualized intervention, supported by technically skilled parents, is the essential bridge to mastery. You will deliver systematic instruction while simultaneously empowering parents with the knowledge to support their children at home.
Key Responsibilities * High-Dosage Delivery: Provide systematic, small-group (1:3) literacy instruction focused on closing specific phonemic and fluency gaps.
- Curriculum Alignment: Work with Program Manager to learn and/or execute intervention curriculum
- Parent Collaboration: Effectively communicate student progress and provide parents with technical skills to support reading at home.
- Post-Pilot Documentation (Final 2 Weeks): Work with the Program Lead to finalize student portfolios and qualitative insights for the final findings report.
Qualifications
- Commitment to the mission and vision of We Excel
- Experience delivering successful reading interventions to students
- Familiarity with instructional tools (Wit & Wisdom, mCLASS, UFLI)
- Strong proficiency in analyzing assessment data to inform interventions
- Effective communication skills to interact with We Excel's team, program manager and families
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week part-time
- A driver's license and reliable transportation
