Hanson International, located in St. Joseph, Michigan, specializes in the design, build, sample, and inspection of precision molds for the die cast and plastic industry. Hanson International is currently seeking a skilled Die Cast Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical to maintaining production efficiency, quality standards, and process consistency in a high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot die casting machines (cold chamber)
- Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure optimal casting quality
- Perform routine die changes, machine maintenance, and basic repairs
- Inspect parts for defects and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to improve processes and reduce scrap
- Maintain accurate production and process documentation
- Operate and troubleshoot FANUC robots and associated automation
- Assist with preventive maintenance and basic hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of die casting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of die casting processes, tooling, and materials
- Electrical and maintenance background preferred
- Hands-on experience operating and programming FANUC robots
- Knowledge of alloys, shot profiles, and die temperature control
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and GD&T
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to quality
- Familiarity with defect troubleshooting, and process improvement
Preferred Skills:
- Automation integration experience, including conveyors and end-of-arm tooling
- Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and molten metal safety awareness
