Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A surgical technologist role is available in Nehalem, OR, supporting invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures in a critical access medical center environment. This contract opportunity involves ensuring the operating room is fully prepared and sterile, assisting surgeons with instruments, and maintaining high-quality patient care throughout surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify surgical procedures with consent forms and prepare patients for operations.
- Pass instruments and anticipate surgeons needs during procedures.
- Perform surgical counts with the circulator before incision closure.
- Prepare and secure sterile dressings post-operation.
- Set up the sterile field with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications.
- Assist with draping, cleaning, and room turnover for subsequent patients.
- Prepare instruments for sterilization and support other team-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate Degree or Certificate of Program pletion in Surgical Technology required.
- National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification preferred.
- CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), HS-BLS, or RQI-BLS certification preferred.
- Acute care experience is an advantage.
