This opportunity is for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide dedicated, one-on-one nursing care to a student with extensive medical needs in a year-round school setting. The position is travel-based within Chicago, IL, requiring the nurse to accompany the student on the bus to ensure safety and medical support throughout the school day.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care tailored to the students complex medical requirements.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring the students health status and responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Collaborating closely with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote the student's well-being and educational success.
- Riding the bus with the student to ensure continuous care and safety during transportation.
Qualifications desired:
- Current licensure as an RN or LPN/LVN, with experience in school nursing or pediatric care.
- Ability to manage extensive medical needs in a supportive and compassionate manner.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for the student throughout the school year.
- Flexibility to start as soon as possible.
- Comfortable riding the bus with the student on a daily basis.
