Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician with strong retail and ambulatory experience to join our healthcare team in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals in a hospital or clinical setting. Your expertise in medical terminology and patient service will be essential in delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Immediate Needs:
- Pharmacy tech with 2+ years experience
- Must come from high volume retail setting
- CPHT and/or PTCB certifications strongly preferred,
- Must be able to flex start time from 8:30AM to 5:00PM
- Temp to Perm Contract
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including IV infusions for critical care and acute care patients.
- Ensure accurate medication administration by verifying prescriptions and patient information.
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications appropriately.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions regarding medications and health-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Document medication administration accurately in accordance with hospital policies.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, particularly in a Retail or clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing outstanding patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
