Summary/Objective

The Production Control Manager is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of manufacturing planning, execution, and support functions to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time production. This role oversees manufacturing item setup, production planning and forecasting, production-related purchasing (including outside processing), and manufacturing engineering functions such as routing, programming, tooling, and fixturing.

This position plays a critical role in aligning demand, supply, and production capabilities while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence while demonstrating and promoting Holmatro’s Core Values.

  • Manufacturing Item Load & Master Data Management
    • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of all manufacturing item master data within the ERP system
    • Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and item attributes are complete, accurate, and aligned with production capabilities
    • Partner with engineering and operations to support new product introductions and engineering changes
    • Establish standards and governance for item setup and data integrity
  • Production Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
    • Oversee the development and execution of the master production schedule
    • Manage team members to ensure that sales forecasts and demand signals are translated into actionable production plans
    • Monitor capacity, constraints, and material availability to ensure achievable schedules
    • Drive production performance tracking and reporting, including:
        • Schedule adherence
        • Throughput and output metrics
        • Inventory levels and turns
        • Communicate risks, gaps, and mitigation plans to leadership
  • Production Purchasing & Outside Processing
    • Oversee purchasing activities tied directly to production requirements
    • Manage existing vendor relationships: understand business needs/forecast, align on material needs, and communicate with vendors to reduce delays and maximize annual inventory position.
    • Establish new supply sources where necessary: establish and document onboarding procedures needed to qualify them as new sources, and assist in resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems.
    • Enhance supplier scorecards and develop KPIs to track and summarize vendor performance, specifically on pricing, on-time delivery, and quality.
    • Perform analysis to leverage market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements where applicable to optimize cost, quantity, and lead times across vendor network
    • Manage relationship with Custom Clearance Agencies and Freight Forwarder Broker Accounts to optimize lead time and cost of imports.
    • Improve terms and conditions list on purchase orders
    • Oversee the process of sending machined parts out for outside processing (e.g., coating, heat treating, finishing)
  • Manufacturing Engineering Oversight
    • Oversee manufacturing engineering activities, including: Routing development and maintenance
    • Ensure manufacturing processes are efficient, repeatable, and scalable
    • Partner with operations to drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean, waste reduction, process optimization)
    • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Continuous Improvement
    • Act as the key liaison between production, engineering, supply chain, and sales
    • Drive alignment between demand planning and operational execution
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and improve service levels
    • Support ERP optimization and data-driven decision-making
    • Coach and mentor staff to resolve conflicts and provide recommendations regarding personnel actions.
    • Develop strong working relationships with warehouse personnel (receiving, handling, and shipping), identify areas of improvement, and assist with implementation
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • B.A or B.S. degree in Supply Chain or Operations or other business-related area
  • 7+ years experience in Manufacturing, Production Control, Operations, or Purchasing/Supply Chain experience
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (Infor CSI/SyteLine experience preferred)
  • Hands on experience in working with automated inventory control, MRP
  • Ability to analyze necessary data and make long-range projection of raw material and parts needs.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and capacity management
  • Strong knowledge of MS office products
  • Experience within the Aluminum and Electrical Supply Chains a plus
  • CPM and Six Sigma Certification a plus.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel

This position requires occasional travel to suppliers / vendors as necessary.
