This position will require some traveling to deliver meals. The primary location is in Eckert, Colorado.
Senior CommUnity Meals is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization.
Hourly Pay: $16.65 - $19.05 per hour based on experience
Part Time Schedules offered: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10am-1:00pm and 9am-1pm

The Dietary Assistant/Driver will provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Twenty-one (21) years of age. Must have a clean and valid driver’s license in the State of Colorado and meet the MVR organization standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of one-year experience in working with the frail elderly preferred.
- Previous institutional dietary service experience is
- Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
- Able to read and understand maps and routing information to navigate with in the Mesa, Delta or Montrose County area.
- Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and
- Adequate strength, endurance and coordination to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as preparing food items, carrying quantity foods, serving meals, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and cleaning assigned work areas.
- Coordination and dexterity for preparing food and operating dietary equipment
- Ability to work in an area that is often very hot/cold.
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in- servicing and documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in defined food preparation, serving of meals and cleaning duties according to proper procedures, using various dietary equipment and supplies, as assigned by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or cook.
- Understands and follows procedures related to all duties or special assignments as directed by the Director of Dietary, Management Team and/or Cook.
- Attends required in-services and completes assigned online
- Responsible for safe and timely transportation of food to program participants.
- Operates equipment and vehicles safely and in compliance within laws, regulations and company’s Driving Program.
- Immediately reports to director, any vehicle or cell phone operating problems, malfunction, or incidents out of the ordinary routine.
- Follows reporting procedures for the following:
- Observed resident
- Supply and equipment
- Damaged, unsafe, malfunctioning
- Conditions related to breeding insects, rodents, or other vermin.
