Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist, under the general supervision of a Radiologist, will perform interventional radiology (IR) procedures on both ambulatory and hospitalized patients. These procedures are performed as requested by a physician or licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury, in line with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform interventional radiology procedures as ordered by physicians or other licensed providers.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Prepare and maintain radiologic equipment for proper function.
• Assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and procedures.

Experience Required:

• Required: Must have Interventional Radiology experience.
• Proven experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, Preferably in a busy lab.
• Neuro and Trauma experience are highly preferred.

Education & Certification:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
• Certification/License:
  • ARRT-R (Radiography) required.
  • Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire/transfer.
  • Must obtain certification in one of the following within two years of hire:
    • ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI)
    • ARRT Interventional Radiography (ARRT-VI)
    • ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CV).
