The machine operator is responsible for all functions related to daily production output in specific machines within the fabrication environment. This position requires proficiency in using tape measures, specialty hand and power tools, and measurement equipment.
Responsibilities
- Program, setup, and operate a CNC Press Brake, Laser, Plasma Cutters, PEM, and CNC Machinery
- Communicate with production leads to meet demands and follow schedules.
- Inspect production parts for defects and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Collaborate with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety employees to ensure compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D prints, 3D models, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of press brake tooling.
- Proficiency in using basic measurement instruments to verify components meet requirements.
- Ability to communicate verbally.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Willingness to adapt and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to read a tape measure to the 16th of an inch.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Blueprint reading is a plus.
- Experience working within a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Ability to operate and set up Press Brake machinery.
- Experience reading blueprints.
- Knowledge of Laser, CNC, Fabrication, Welding, Mill, and Lathe.
Work Environment
Fabrication shop environment that is non-climate controlled. Enjoy a structured schedule with openings available for 1st Shift (7am-3:30pm) and 2nd Shift (3:30pm-12am).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
