The HVAC Department Manager oversees the operations of the HVAC department, managing residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC systems. This role involves leading a skilled team, managing projects and budgets, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring top-quality service with strict safety compliance. The manager reports directly to the owner and is expected to travel occasionally to multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the HVAC team to ensure high performance and motivation
- Oversee project planning, execution, and timely delivery
- Develop and control departmental budgets
- Conduct staff training to maintain skill proficiency and safety standards
- Coordinate with vendors for supply and service agreements
- Ensure quality control of all HVAC installations and maintenance
- Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations
- Create and manage work schedules to optimize department efficiency
- Oversee maintenance and servicing of HVAC equipment
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC management
- Certified HVAC Journeyman
- Expertise in residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC system design
- Strong team leadership skills
- Proven project management capability
- Budget management proficiency
- Effective problem-solving and communication skills
- Technical troubleshooting expertise
- Experience managing vendor relationships
