Position Summary:
Hillwood Investment Properties (HIP) is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to join its growing Operations and Finance team in Dallas, Texas. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and partnering closely with the FP&A Director, this role supports financial planning, forecasting, incentive compensation analysis, and performance reporting across HIP’s real estate investment platform.
The Senior FP&A Analyst will help evaluate project and portfolio performance, support annual budgeting and cash planning, develop financial models and analyses, and prepare insights that inform capital allocation, operating decisions, and senior leadership reporting. A key component of the role includes supporting incentive compensation planning and analysis, helping align business performance, investment results, and compensation outcomes across the platform.
Building on a foundation of established tools, metrics, and systems, the Senior FP&A Analyst will collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Capital Markets, Regional Teams, Human Resources, Legal, and Acquisitions & Dispositions to enhance reporting, support strategic initiatives, and improve financial and operational decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze project and portfolio performance, including budget-to-actual results, cash flow trends, key variances, and return drivers.
- Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives, operational planning, and investment evaluations.
- Support corporate and investment-level cash flow forecasting and capital planning, helping anticipate funding needs, evaluate liquidity, and inform capital allocation priorities.
- Coordinate and support the annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes including consolidating inputs, validating assumptions, and preparing leadership materials.
- Prepare executive-level financial reporting packages, dashboards, and variance analyses that highlight key trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers across the portfolio.
Incentive Compensation & Planning
- Own and support key components of HIP’s incentive compensation programs, including STIP, LTIP, and related plans, with responsibility for accurate data, models, calculations, and reporting.
- Build a deep understanding of HIP’s business model, project economics, and performance drivers to support incentive compensation analysis tied to company and investment performance.
- Partner with Human Resources and business leaders to analyze market compensation data, evaluate internal compensation trends, and support recommendations for existing associates, new hires, and evolving roles.
- Prepare and present compensation-related analysis, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making around role creation, projected compensation, and incentive plan administration.
- Support special projects and related investment-aligned programs, including the Associate Investment Opportunity Plans, providing exposure to deal-level economics, associate investment participation, and cross-functional leadership discussions.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to synthesize financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- High attention to detail and strong ownership of deliverables, deadlines, and accuracy.
- Effective cross-functional communicator who can partner with Finance, Operations, Accounting, Capital Markets, HR, and Regional Teams.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with reporting, visualization, or planning tools preferred.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, or related field required.
- MBA, MSF, or advanced degree beneficial.
- 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, real estate finance, investment analysis, corporate finance, or related analytical finance role.
- Proven experience supporting business leaders and influencing decision-making through data and analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of financial reporting systems and related technology systems.
- Experience with reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QuickBase, OneStream) beneficial.
- Real estate investment, development, asset management, REIT, or private equity real estate experience strongly preferred.
