Company Overview: Newport Bakers is a premier bakery co-packer with over 20 years of experience in crafting delectable desserts from our 3,000 square foot facility. We specialize in cheesecakes and cookies, catering to a variety of sectors including food services, retailers, airlines, and more. Position Overview: The Bakery Production Specialist will play a crucial role in preparing, assembling, and finishing our baked products. This position requires a keen attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, and an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Using 140 quart mixers, dough depositors, air compressors, flow wrappers. Must be willing to learn machinery and be mechanically sound.
Precise portioning of raw dough and batter in preparation for baking.
Preparation of products for baking which includes spreading sheets evenly, proper spacing of dough, adding toppings, or any pre-bake garnishes.
Assembling, decorating, and garnishing finished bakery items.
Packaging and casing the finished product, ensuring the product's integrity and appearance.
Conducting spot cleaning duties to maintain a tidy and orderly work station.
Adhering to all food safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Experience with or ability to quickly learn basic machinery operations.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn basic cake decoration techniques.
The capacity to accurately measure ingredients using scales.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable standing for extended periods, up to 2 hours uninterrupted.
Previous experience in a bakery or related environment.
Experience using Hobart Mixers, and manufacturing equipment such as Hobart 140 qt mixers, Vemag, depositor/conveyor systems.
Troubleshooting equipment.
