Houston, TX (Onsite – Corporate Headquarters)
1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract | 40 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: $46.14 Hourly
Our client, a Fortune 500 leader undergoing a large-scale HR transformation, is seeking a Senior Prevailing Wage Associate to support certified payroll compliance and payroll data accuracy across complex, multi-state populations.
This role is ideal for a polished, enterprise-level professional who thrives in fast-paced corporate environments and exercises strong independent judgment.
Position OverviewThe Senior Prevailing Wage Associate supports payroll accuracy and compliance by administering, validating, and preparing HR and payroll-impacting data prior to payroll execution. This role plays a critical part in strengthening compliance controls, improving payroll data quality, and maintaining audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end prevailing wage and certified payroll activities
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports (WH-347 and state equivalents)
- Validate employee classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and hours worked
- Partner with Payroll to resolve discrepancies prior to payroll close
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance records
- Respond to internal and external certified payroll inquiries
- Identify and escalate compliance risks with recommended solutions
- Support process improvements within payroll and HR operations
- Coach and mentor junior team members as a subject matter expert
QualificationsRequired:
- 2–4+ years of certified payroll and/or prevailing wage administration experience
- Hands-on experience preparing certified payroll reports
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local prevailing wage regulations
- Experience in large enterprise environments (10,000+ employees preferred)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Agile mindset and strong professional presence
Preferred:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Manufacturing industries
- Oracle HCM, UKG, ADP, Workday experience
- Intermediate Excel skills
