We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting principles, experience with QuickBooks, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. This role supports the
accounting department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks including data entry, processing transactions, and reconciling accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter daily financial transactions in QuickBooks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare and process invoices, checks, and expense reports.
- Use Excel to generate reports, maintain spreadsheets, and perform data analysis as needed.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting.
- Support audits and provide requested documentation.
Perform other general accounting duties as assigned
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) is required.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a mid-size business environment.
- Familiarity with payroll, sales tax filings, or job costing a plus.
