Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services in a hospital setting, focusing on acute care and inpatient rehab patients. This position involves assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in a Level III Trauma and Stroke Center environment.

Position Details:
- Contract role
- Shift: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM, Sunday through Saturday
- Two weekend days per month required
- Work with ortho post-op, ICU, cardio-pulmonary, and med/surg patients
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current NBCOT certification and Virginia OT license required
- BLS certification required (or obtained within 90 days of orientation)
- Minimum of 1 year recent acute care hospital and/or inpatient rehab experience preferred
- New graduates (01 year) considered only if they have at least 6 months recent acute care experience
- Masters degree or accredited Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver age-appropriate, therapeutic interventions and evaluate patient progress
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record system
- Provide patient and family education supporting functional independence
- Participate in discharge planning and contribute to performance improvement initiatives
- Engage in professional development, mentoring, and interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Support department goals including safety, cost-effective care, and marketing efforts
