We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Order Pickers. Your main role will involve pulling orders using a hand cart, utilizing a pick ticket, and scanning products and labels. You will also be responsible for restocking incoming products and primarily pulling products for the shipping department. Additionally, you may assist in the shipping process, including utilizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS), printing labels, and loading trucks. Candidates should be prepared to move at a fast pace and assist operators with packaging, labeling, palletizing, and other tasks as needed. This role requires repetitive lifting of 20-40lbs boxes filled with sandpaper products or blades. Attention to detail is crucial as you may handle products for our largest customer. Skilled candidates have the potential for cross-training and long-term employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Pull orders using a hand cart and pick ticket.
- Scan products and labels for order accuracy.
- Restock incoming products and assist in the shipping department.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for shipping processes.
- Print labels and load trucks for shipping.
- Assist operators with packaging, labeling, and palletizing.
- Handle products with attention to detail, especially for key customers.
- Lift and move boxes weighing 20-40lbs.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in order pulling or a similar role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and material handling.
- Proficiency in packing, production, and general labor tasks.
- Knowledge of RF scanner usage and packaging line operations.
- Familiarity with inventory management and warehouse shipping processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with FedEx shipping and receiving.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to assist in various roles and be cross-trained.

Work Environment
The plant is not climate-controlled, but large fans are used to maintain airflow in the summer, and it stays cooler in the winter with open dock doors for truck loading. The typical shift is from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday shifts during busy periods. Staying at your workstation and minimizing unnecessary breaks is important. The plant consists of around 50 employees, all playing crucial roles, and offers an opportunity for those willing to help during busy seasons.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PETERSBURG, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
