Job DescriptionLocum Tenens Physician Assistant – Inpatient Trauma Surgery
Location: Neptune City, New Jersey
Compensation: $140/hour + night & weekend differential
Start Date: October 20th | Duration: 10–12 months
Schedule: 3 shifts/week, 12.5-hour shifts (60% nights / 40% days)

Position Overview:
A leading trauma surgery department in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Locum Physician Assistant to join its inpatient trauma team for a long-term coverage need. The PA will manage trauma patients on the floor, perform critical procedures, and coordinate care with the surgical team. This opportunity is ideal for a provider with a strong trauma or critical care background who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Details:

  • Shifts:

    • 3 shifts per week (12.5 hours each)

    • Rotating schedule with approximately 1–3 nights per week (60% nights / 40% days)

  • Patient Load:

    • Average of 10–25 patients per shift

  • Duties:

    • Inpatient trauma care and management

    • Floor and consult coverage

    • Performing procedures: central lines, arterial line placement

    • Occasional first assist in OR (experience preferred but not required)

Qualifications:

  • Active New Jersey PA license – Required

  • Current CDS and DEA – Required

  • Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS – All Required

  • Experience:

    • Trauma or Critical Care experience – Required

    • Prior inpatient hospital experience – Strongly preferred

    • First assist experience – Preferred but not essential
