Position Title: Human Resources Assistant

Department: Human Resources

Position Reports to: Human Resources Director

Status: Full-Time/non-union



Position Summary: The Human Resources Assistant will be the main point of contact for the Human Resources Department and manage the day-to-day operations, performing a variety of office support and/or secretarial duties, such as composing memorandums, data entry and reporting, processing forms, and establishing and maintaining records in accordance with CMOARs organizations policies and procedures. The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with the HR team, including the HR Director, to support departmental goals and contribute to overall organizational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Main point of contact for the Human Resources Department.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails and inquiries to appropriate HR team members.
  • Manage HR related documentation such as check request, status changes, updating records and processing forms.
  • Oversee payroll related inquiries such as processing changes of employees, and updating timesheets, wage replacements.
  • Keep inventory and handle requests for laptops, headsets, webcams, gate keys and other equipment.
  • Respond to inquiries related to verification of employment.
  • Performs a wide variety of typing assignments, which are mainly confidential in nature.
  • Responsible for general office tasks such as sorting mail, filing and ordering office supplies.
  • Assist with activities, projects, events, meetings etc. for the Wellness Committee
  • Processes union medical reimbursements and uniform distribution.
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding and other HR related functions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Spanish Bilingual Required
  • Ability to manage priorities, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong organizational skills.
  • 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a Community Health Setting or Healthcare setting.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Strong clerical/administrative skills including computer skills - experience with ADP or HRIS System, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Current California drivers license and legally required automobile insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent in business or human resources experience.
