Healthonomic Primary Care is seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring efficient clinic operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and proficiency in both clinical support and administrative workflows, with a strong focus on EMR management, patient communication, and provider support.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Room patients, take vital signs, and update patient history.
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer vaccines, perform EKGs, and support phlebotomy as needed.
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies according to infection-control standards.
Provider & Workflow Support
- Review and manage provider In-Baskets daily, handling all items that do not require direct clinical indication (e.g., messages, refills, scheduling requests, test results routing).
- Process referrals, track outcomes, and coordinate with specialists.
- Complete prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
- Accurately enter CPT codes for services and procedures.
- Perform schedule checks to identify conflicts, open slots, and coverage needs.
Patient Care Coordination
- Conduct Transitional Care Management (TCM) follow-up calls and document outcomes.
- Support Chronic Care Management (CCM) workflows, including outreach and care plan documentation.
- Provide patient education on medications, care plans, and preventive services.
- Communicate with patients regarding instructions, results, and follow-ups.
Administrative Duties
- Answer patient calls and messages promptly and professionally.
- Scrubbing the schedule of their provider
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
- Follow infection control protocols and organizational safety policies.
- Uphold professionalism and ethical conduct at all times.
