Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Psychological Assessment and Counseling

Carnegie Hill Psychiatry

Full-time (one weekend day required per month)

Hybrid (3 days in-person; 2 days remote)

12-months

W2 employee with benefits package

Carnegie Hill Psychiatry is a private group practice in New York that offers medication management, mental health treatment, and psychological assessment. We are accepting applications for a 12-month post-doctoral fellowship position beginning in Fall of 2026.

We welcome candidates who have completed an accredited American Psychological Association (APA) doctoral program and completed doctoral internship to apply for our intensive training program.

Training and clinical responsibilities will be split between (1) counseling and (2) psychological assessment:

  1. For the counseling portion of the fellowship, the candidate will maintain a therapy caseload of approximately 8-12 clients per week. The candidate will receive weekly supervision by a licensed psychologist for these therapy cases. They will also be expected to attend clinical training workshops hosted by the practice as well as plan and lead their own workshop for professionals within the practice. The candidate will also write relevant articles for publication on our website blog, and be expected to complete administrative duties relevant to their caseload (i.e. progress notes, chart maintenance).

  1. For the psychological assessment portion of the fellowship, the candidate will receive advanced training in assessment for both children and adults. This training will include exposure to neuropsychological instruments. The candidate will be expected to complete 2-4 testing cases per month depending on client flow. The candidate will conduct all portions of the assessment including the intake, administration, and feedback sessions. The candidate will be responsible for interpreting the findings and writing a comprehensive psychological report. These assessments will address referral concerns that include but are not limited to: mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. The candidate will receive weekly individual supervision from a licensed psychologist on their testing caseload. The candidate will also serve as a secondary supervisor to doctoral practicum students on their respective testing cases, offering training in administration and interpretation.

The start date is the Fall of 2026. The start date is flexible for the right candidate. This is a 12-month position, but there is an opportunity to join our team on a longer-term basis after completion of the fellowship depending on the candidate’s interest and job performance.
