Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher is needed to provide exceptional support to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels in West Valley City, UT. This role focuses on delivering tailored instruction and interventions to K-12 students with special needs, ensuring their academic and social development within an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress
- Monitor and document student performance and behavioral progress
- Adapt instructional materials and techniques to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere promoting student engagement and growth
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teaching License valid in the state of practice
- Experience working with K-12 age groups preferred
- Strong understanding of special education laws, best practices, and classroom management
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams
Position Details:
- Contract position from start date as soon as possible through the end of the current school year
- Approximately 30 hours per week with a flexible schedule
- Location: West Valley City, Utah
