As a MIG/TIG Welder, you will specialize in welding stainless steel, aluminum, and some mild steel on 16 gauge or thinner materials. The role emphasizes the ability to read welding blueprints and lay beads on thin sheet metal, preparing them for dispatch. This position requires adaptability, as you will work on different welding projects in a custom environment daily.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel using 16 gauge or thinner materials.
- Conduct TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel using 16 gauge or thinner materials.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints accurately.
- Lay beads on thin sheet metal in preparation for dispatch.
- Adapt to a custom environment with varying welding projects.
- Handle weld machine temperature effectively to avoid warping metals.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Experience working with thinly gauged sheet metal, specifically 16 gauge or thinner.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Comfortable working with stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in sheet metal shops is advantageous.
- Candidates from structural welding backgrounds may struggle due to the thinness of sheet metal.
- Ability to adapt to varied tasks and avoid repetitive production welding.

Work Environment
Work in a spacious sheet metal shop with a team of 35 employees, equipped with some new fabrication machines. The location in Wyoming offers recreational opportunities such as fishing and hunting during time off.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
