Job Description

The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing and executing effective pricing strategies for U.S. Government contract proposals. This role manages detailed cost models and ensures all pricing proposals are competitive, profitable, and compliant with federal regulations and company policies. The Pricing Manager will analyze staffing needs and local compensation standards to meet contract requirements, conduct profitability analyses, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership. This position will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful proposal outcomes.

The Pricing Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to shape winning proposals and strategic pricing initiatives in a government contracting environment. A successful candidate will combine technical pricing expertise with leadership and collaboration skills to drive business growth while ensuring full compliance with all federal contracting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create pricing approaches for proposals across various Government contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ) to maximize competitiveness and profitability while minimizing risk.
  • Build and manage detailed cost models and pricing templates aligned with contract requirements and the scope of work. Ensure all cost elements (labor, materials, overhead, etc.) are accurately estimated and documented.
  • Analyze staffing requirements and compensation expectations based on locality and contract-specific constraints. Incorporate prevailing wage rates or locality pay differentials to ensure realistic and compliant labor pricing.
  • Perform cost and profitability analysis for bids and ongoing contracts. Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on pricing decisions, cost trade-offs, and expected profit margins.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Government regulations (e.g., FAR and DFARS) and internal company policies throughout the pricing process. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal contracting rules and implement pricing practices that meet these standards.
  • Monitor and interpret market trends and industry data that impact pricing (such as labor market rates, material costs, and competitor pricing strategies). Adjust pricing models and strategies accordingly to remain competitive.
  • Support the Business Development team and Capture leads with Price to win analysis for target opportunities.
  • May require supervising and mentoring a small team of pricing analysts or support staff. Review their work for accuracy and compliance, provide training in pricing best practices, and guide the team to meet proposal deadlines and quality standards.

This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
