We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fleet Dispatcher to join our growing team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a key role in coordinating drivers, loads, and schedules to ensure on-time, efficient service.
Principal Function: The Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a commercial fleet. This role ensures that drivers, vehicles, and routes are scheduled efficiently to meet customer needs and company goals. Dispatchers monitor driver performance, track deliveries and pickups, respond to changing conditions (such as traffic or weather), and provide real-time support to drivers on the road. They act as the main point of communication between drivers and customers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations while maximizing productivity and service quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Driver Coordination: Assign and schedule drivers for daily routes, ensuring compliance with hours-of-service (HOS) regulations.
- Load Management: Plan and optimize load assignments, routing, and delivery schedules.
- Communication Hub: Serve as the main point of contact between drivers, customers, and management.
- Tracking & Monitoring: Use dispatch software/ELD systems to monitor load progress, location updates, and delivery times.
- Problem Solving: Respond to unexpected issues (delays, breakdowns, route changes) with quick, effective solutions.
- Customer Service: Provide timely updates to customers and ensure a positive experience.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all dispatch activities follow DOT/FMCSA regulations, company safety policies, and industry standards.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of driver hours, routes, load status, and incidents.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no employee supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D.; and two years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience working in the logistics and distribution industry is desired.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in dispatching (trucking or logistics preferred).
- Proficiency with dispatch/tracking software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Resourceful and creative.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to adhere to time and attendance policies.
- Must exhibit professionalism and be effective working with customers and drivers.
- Proficient with commonly used office software, including but not limited to: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as telephone and internet communications.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Effective prioritization and time management skills.
- Strong initiative to strive for continuous accuracy, quality, and timeliness of information.

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. However, job duties may require one to operate in a warehouse environment with moderate safety/health hazard potential. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This role is required to be on-site.
While the offices of company are open from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, this job will require work beyond these hours which may include weekends and holidays.
