Job Title: PD Laser Technician
Duration: 6 Months (Potential to Hire full time/Extension)
Location: Onsite – Maple Grove 55311
Job Purpose:
- Assist Process Development Laser engineers, scientists, and teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. This role requires a high degree of independence and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced, global environment, with a focus on developing laser processes from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assigned tasks for project deliverables.
- Develop solutions and contribute to initial design, testing, and process concepts.
- Construct prototype products from concepts.
- Organize, coordinate, and execute prototyping efforts with minimal engineering guidance.
- Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and automation.
- Coordinate procurement and qualification of new or modified laser equipment.
- Prepare reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community.
- Use established networks to assist engineering teams in obtaining materials, services, and data.
- Work with internal resources and external vendors to secure supplies and services.
- Train and coach peers on technical aspects of the job.
- Contribute technically as part of an extended team on medium- to high-complexity projects with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project success.
- Propose and develop new or modified designs, materials, or processes under minimal direction.
- Research and evaluate new technologies within the functional area.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with an AA degree, or equivalent combination of education/work experience.
- Must have experience with laser systems (Fiber laser, Nd:YAG laser, or femto laser).
- Experience with machine integration, including optical systems.
- Proficiency with Aerotek programming.
- Experience with CAD software for creating laser system programs.

- Team Structure: You will work within a team of 8, partnering closely with 2–3 individuals on specific projects.
